is a Canadian manufacturer of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), emergency lighting inverters, and related power systems serving marine, industrial, mining, and other critical infrastructure sectors across Canada and internationally.
As our service department continues to grow, we are expanding our team with a technical role that combines field service and in-house production support.
About the Role
This is a hands-on electrical position suited for a Journeyman or Red Seal Electrician, or an Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technologist with strong practical experience, who is looking to broaden their technical scope beyond traditional construction work.
We welcome applications from both experienced electricians and engineering technologists who have solid hands-on electrical capability and a strong understanding of 3-phase systems.
The Electrical Service & Production Technician will support field start-ups, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems, while also contributing to electrical assembly, wiring, and factory testing when not deployed on service assignments.
This role offers a balanced structure with shared travel responsibilities and the opportunity to work on specialized, high-reliability power systems within a growing Canadian manufacturer.
Key Responsibilities
Field Service (Approximately 20–30% Travel)
Start-up and commissioning of 1-phase and 3-phase UPS systems and emergency lighting inverters
Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
Diagnosing power quality, load distribution, and bypass configurations
Providing remote and onsite technical support
Preparing detailed field service reports and documentation
Supporting warranty investigations and quality reviews
Production & Factory Support
Wiring and assembly of 1-phase and 3-phase electrical panels and UPS cabinets
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, control drawings, and single-line diagrams
Performing factory testing and verification procedures
Supporting system retrofits and custom configurations
Assisting production with repairs and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring compliance with CSA standards and internal quality procedures
What We Are Looking For
Journeyman Electrician or Red Seal certification OR
Electrical Engineering Technologist or Electronics Engineering Technologist diploma
Strong understanding of 3-phase power systems
Min. 3 years of experience in commercial, industrial, or power systems environments
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
Service and troubleshooting experience are strongly preferred
Strong documentation and communication skills
Self-motivated with high attention to detail
FSR certification is an asset
Valid BC Class 5 driver's license with satisfactory abstract
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (due to security clearance requirements)
Compensation & Benefits
Shop rate:
$30–32 per hour
Field service rate:
$34–36 per hour while deployed on service assignments
Travel approximately 20–30%, shared across the service team
