Purpose:
The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with Company standards, safety regulations, and industry codes. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in diverse environments. The Electrician contributes to the successful and safe execution of projects while minimizing downtime and ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance – Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, including wiring, outlets, panels, and lighting. Performs conduit bending and installation, rigid pipe threading, raceway systems, and ladder tray installation. Conducts routine inspections and maintenance to ensure systems remain operational and compliant with safety standards.
Troubleshooting & Repairs – Diagnoses electrical issues using testing devices and problem-solving techniques, repairs or replaces defective components in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Project Execution – Assists with new construction, renovations, or upgrades of electrical systems in industrial and other settings. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to accurately complete installations and repairs, including conduit layouts, raceway systems, and cable tray routing.
Compliance & Safety – Adheres to local, state, and federal electrical codes, as well as Company safety protocols, ensures compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations by wearing PPE and practicing safe work habits, follows OSHA regulations, Company PPE standards, lock out Tag out, and safety checks to mitigate hazards.
Collaboration & Communication – Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and the Operations Manager as well as other tradespeople to coordinate activities and meet project timelines, communicates project updates, issues, or delays effectively to supervisors or clients.
Inventory & Tools – Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition, tracks and reports material usage or shortages to ensure project needs are met.
Testing & Certifications – Conduct testing of electrical systems and circuits to ensure functionality and safety, certifies and documents work performed according to project and regulatory requirements.
Other – Other duties, roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and applicable codes including NEC and electrical safety standards.
Proficiency in using electrical testing devices, hand tools, and power tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
Physical Requirements:
Capability of standing, bending, climbing, or kneeling for extended periods of time, with potential confined space exposure.
Comfortable working at heights, in varying environmental conditions, indoors and outdoors.
Capacity to lift, carry or transport materials and equipment fifty (50) pounds or more.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent certification).
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical installation, maintenance and or repair.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred).
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments a plus.
