We require a person who is proficient in the welding and cutting of carbon and stainless steels using multiple processes. Someone with a fabrication background, who can think on their feet and see different solutions to various obstacles in layout and design. Pipefitting experience would be an asset. We are seeking an experienced Journeyman B – Pressure Welder for our Fabrication Shop in Edmonton, Alberta. MUST HAVE FAB SHOP EXPERIENCE USING GTAW, SMAW AND WIRE ON CARBON & STAINLESS. Responsibilities • Follows directions in given spool drawings and layouts • Cleans and checks for defects and discontinuities in weldments • Mentoring and giving direction to apprentices • Using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), metal cored arc welding (MCAW) • Perform rolled pipe welds on a power, and hand spinner • Perform position welds in sometimes difficult and hard to reach places • Pipe fitting and pipe tacking • May perform other related duties assigned Requirements • Must possess a valid B-Pressure ticket • Must be experienced with small and large bore • CWB ticket will be an asset • Must have previous welding experience in an industrial setting • Must have previous welding experience in a fabrication shop • Must possess valid government issued photo identification • Have own transportation Work Conditions • 8-hour days, overtime @ 1.5x after 40 hours • Work will be primarily inside fab shop facility, however some field work may also be required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $43.00-$47.28 per hour Benefits: • Dental care • Disability insurance • Extended health care • Life insurance • Vision care Experience: • B Pressure Welding: 1 year (preferred) Work Location: In person
