Master Electrician

Job Title: Certified Master Electrician Location: McMahon Stadium – Calgary, Alberta Employment Type: Full-Time Join the Team at McMahon Stadium We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Certified Master Electrician to join our operations team at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems that support stadium operations, events, and daily facility needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting major sporting events, concerts, and community activities at one of Calgary’s most recognized venues. Key Responsibilities • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components throughout the stadium • Perform preventative maintenance on lighting, power distribution, control systems, and facility infrastructure • Diagnose electrical issues and implement effective repairs in a timely manner • Support event operations by ensuring electrical systems function reliably before, during, and after events • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents • Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures • Coordinate with facility staff, contractors, and event teams when electrical support is required • Coordinate and implement annual fire alarm testing • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records including documentation, permits, and electrical drawings • Be willing to perform other non-electrical maintenance duties to assist the operations team with event and professional sports stadium preparation and day-to-day operations Qualifications • Certified Master Electrician (required) • Valid Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification • 7+ years of experience in commercial, industrial, or facilities electrical work • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and safe work practices • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment • Familiarity with renovation projects and construction environments • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical systems • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems is preferred • Handyman experience or general construction skills are advantageous • Fall arrest certification and ability to work from heights occasionally • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Comfortable working in a large facility environment, including evenings and weekends during events and the busy professional sports season (April – November) Preferred Experience • Experience with large commercial facilities, stadiums, or event venues • Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS) or control systems • Experience with lighting control systems and power distribution What We Offer • Annual salary of $80,000 - $90,000 depending on experience/qualifications • Comprehensive benefits package • Opportunities to work at major sporting events and concerts • A unique work environment in one of Calgary’s most iconic venues • Supportive and collaborative team culture How to Apply Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resume and proof of certification.
