Metal Fabricator
Boss Display is a full-service design and production firm specializing in interactive exhibits for Children’s Museums and Science Centers. We are currently seeking a full-time metal fabricator/ welder to join our team.
Job Description
Metal Fabricators use a variety of fabrication processes to create and assemble new structures using detailed construction drawings, a large variety of tools and machinery, jigs, and templates. Metal Fabricators coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, Outside Vendors, and other fellow Metal Fabricators throughout this process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Design and construct templates and fixtures.
• Apply knowledge of stock allowances for thickness, shrinkage and physical properties of metal
• Accurately locate and mark lines for cutting, bending, and rolling
• Accurately set up machines and tooling, locate and mark lines for welding, cutting, mill work, lathe work, bending, rolling, etc.
• Operate a variety of other general tools and machinery such as bandsaws, chop saws, drills, etc.
• Perform general maintenance on tools and equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, maintaining OSHA compliance through work practice
• Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and managers
• Other duties or special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years Tig welding experience with a concentration in stainless steel.
• Experience with bending and rolling sheet good material, pipe, and tubing
• Knowledge and experience using variety of hand tools, power tools, various saws, drills, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering, production and shop drawings and define parts from those drawings to be able to weld, machine, and assemble parts as required
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects
• Candidates should possess some mechanical knowledge
• Must have a strong attention to detail, note taking, and organization
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Inventive spirit, initiative to work alone without direct supervision, and be responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks
• Good communication skills, positive attitude, and be able to succeed in a team environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
