Job Description

Job Title: Electrician/MillwrightJob Description Join a family-owned Canadian manufacturer renowned for producing premium quality valves, specialty fittings, and pipe hanging products. We are seeking to add a skilled millwright/electrician to our plant team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment, ensuring that all machinery is maintained to the required standards and responsive to production needs and equipment failures. Responsibilities • Ensure all production equipment and machinery are functioning at all times. • Troubleshoot and repair or replace parts as required. • Communicate effectively with the maintenance team and other departments. • Ensure all specifications are accurately programmed in the machines. • Maintain specification tolerances. • Utilize blueprints for correct detailing, layout, and setup. • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery safely. • Communicate requirements for spare parts and ordering stock items to ensure safety stock is on hand. • Work well with others and ensure all guarding is in place and functional. • Ensure equipment is locked out and tagged when appropriate. • Take initiative and suggest improvements for machine performance. • Provide long-term solutions to machine problems, focusing on preventing recurring issues. • Maintain the building in a safe manner. • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies and values. • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities. • Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills • Experience as a millwright or maintenance mechanic. • Possession of 433A, 442A, or equivalent certification. • Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment, stamping presses, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, and basic electrical devices. • Capability to work with electrical systems up to 575 volts and 30 amperes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Ability to use mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and hand tools to fabricate replacement parts. • Perform preventive maintenance checks to minimize downtime. • Read mechanical and electrical schematics. • Fork truck certification, working from heights, and lift equipment experience are nice to have. • Must bring own tools. • Safety shoes required. Work Environment This role is situated in a manufacturing environment with a team comprising two millwrights on the day shift and two millwrights on the afternoon shift. All employees are required to wear masks on-site. Safety is a priority, with a requirement for safety shoes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mississauga, ON.
