Job Brief:
The Journeyman Electrician will provide on-site installation, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a customer’s electrical products and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Completes QA/QC redlines for as-built construction drawings.
* Reads and interprets schematics and drawings related to electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings and electrical code specifications.
* Repairs and adjusts system components (sensors, transmitters, programmable logic controllers, etc.); removes and replaces defective parts.
* Pulls wire through conduits, holes, and splice, join, and/or connect wire to form circuits.
* Tests circuits to ensure integrity and safety.
* Completes daily field work orders and maintains hours worked and equipment used.
* Completes inventory transfers and provides monthly warehouse inventory reports.
* Senior Journeyman will complete on the job training documents for Junior Technicians.
* Mentors/trains electrical apprentices.
* Provides on-call support as required.
* Participates/complies with company safety programs & company policies.
* Other duties as required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
* Journeyman or interprovincial Red Seal Certificate in electrical.
* Technical training or experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
* Experience using pressure and/or electrical test equipment to troubleshoot systems.
* Ability to read, interpret, and understand piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID) drawings.
* Ability to work long hours and participate in on-call schedule as required.
* Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and use an ERP system, IFS w/ Aurena Tech Portal preferred.
* Standard First Aid/CPR with AED, H2S Alive, CSO, CSTS.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
* Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
* Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech’s standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
