Job Description
Mount Benson Mechanical Ltd. is a a well-established mechanical contracting company working on a mix of commercial projects and select residential work. We value quality workmanship, safety, and a strong team culture, and we are looking to add reliable journeyman plumbers to our growing team. We operate and do projects throughout Vancouver Island with a focus on the mid-island Nanaimo area, however some travel may be required across the Island.
• *Position**:
• *Responsibilities**:
- Experience in mechanical room upgrades, boiler replacements, and black iron piping up to 6”
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported, and anchored
- Experience working on multi-family residential installations
- Ensure all work performed is in line with the requirements of the appropriate provincial codes
- Read and follow blueprints, engineering specification, technological processes, and SOPs in performing all tasks assigned
- Maintain and monitor the use of company assets (fleet, tools, equipment, etc.) to ensure that they are used with the utmost care
- Play a significant role by demonstrating long-term support and respect for all current, new, and proposed processes, procedures, policies, and rules
- Ensure all work being performed is of the best trade standards, industry leading quality, and service excellence
- Clear concise communication with sub trades, project managers and office team
- Deliver on deadlines and targets, and should deadlines or targets not be achievable in the given time frame, immediately advise and communicate status with all stakeholders
- If required, delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to all appropriate apprentice personnel
- Perform any other duties as required by the manager and/or Foreman
• *Essential Qualifications**:
- Current Journeyman Plumbing Ticket (BC Registered or equivalent)
- Backflow ticket (preferred)
- Gas Fitter B ticket
- Proven experience with commercial & residential plumbing work
- Previous experience trouble shooting boilers, pumps and hydronic systems
- Sound knowledge of mechanical equipment in a commercial setting
- A thorough understanding of provincial plumbing code and standards
- A leader who can train and mentor current and future apprentices
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with clients and office staff
- Ability to work as a positive team player
- Valid full class driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must be comfortable working with mobile devices
- Must be able to pass a criminal record check

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
