Job DetailsJob Location: D0011- Fort Huachuca BASOPS - Fort Huachuca, AZ 85613Job Position: Electrician Technician Job Summary: This position is located at the Fort Huachuca Army Base. The Electrician Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all electrical equipment and systems in the facility. This includes troubleshooting problems, replacing defective parts, and performing preventive maintenance. The Electrician Technician must be able to work independently with little supervision and must have a strong understanding of electrical theory and principles. Electrician Technician Job Responsibilities: Perform general maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and components Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair Test electrical systems and components using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure proper functioning Isolate defective circuits and replace fuses or reset circuit breakers Connect wiring in electrical circuits according to specifications using hand tools or power tools Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motors Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools or power tools Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem Plan layout of projects Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects Objectives Maintain and repair all electrical equipment and systems in a safe and efficient manner. Install new electrical equipment and systems as needed. Diagnose issues with electrical equipment and systems, and determine the best course of action to resolve the issue. Keep up to date on all codes and regulations governing electrical work, and ensure that all work is performed in compliance with these codes. Maintenance Electrician Job Skills & Qualifications Needed A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for the role of maintenance electrician. Maintenance electricians should have strong problem solving skills and be able to work independently. Basic computer skills may also be required.
